Chapter 28 Cloud-Haired Tribe

The mature woman slowly retreated, knowing that her speed-enhancing skill had a limited duration, and continuing the fight might lead to a significant loss. The young man had easily blocked her trump card attack; his strength was clearly considerable. He also seemed intelligent; he clearly had other trump cards but chose not to retaliate, indicating his unwillingness to forge a deadly enmity with her clan.

After creating some distance, she whistled loudly. Hannah picked up the longbow and slung it over her shoulder. Then, taking Huang Xin's hand, she walked towards the summoned beast, patted its head, and the beast lay down. This fawn was very intelligent.

Hannah gestured for Huang Xin to stay and look after the fawn while she went to gather herbs. Huang Xin said softly,

"Let Carlo go with you! It's too dangerous for you to go alone!"

Hanna looked into Huang Xin's eyes, gave him a sweet smile, and nodded.

Huang Xin summoned Carlo and gave him the order. Carlo then followed Hannah around happily, looking around as he went.

Half an hour later, Hannah returned, holding a handful of herbs in her hand and chewing on one. After walking back, she swallowed the herbs, and her throat felt much better.

"Huang Xin, we need to bandage it. Cut the branch Carlo is holding into three five-centimeter-long pieces. We'll also need to tear off a piece of cloth to use for securing it."

Hanna pointed to her leather armor, and Huang Xin, understanding, tore off a large piece of it, revealing half of her waist and stomach. Hanna chuckled, "Since it's already torn, it's fine this way; it can be wrapped up even more tightly."

She crushed the herbs on a stone and applied them evenly to the fawn's wound. Then she tore two thin strips of cloth from the fabric and wrapped the remaining cloth tightly around the wound. Finally, she used three branches and two strips of cloth to secure the fracture.

After doing all this, she turned around and patiently explained to Huang Xin.

"This is a white deer. It's very intelligent and knows how to repay kindness. This herb is very effective; it will heal in a few hours. Bone healing is slower, taking several days. Once the wound is healed, it will be able to find food on its own."

Huang Xin nodded as if he understood, but he didn't know what the point was in making a deer repay a debt of gratitude. He just felt that Hanna was kind-hearted and a particularly gentle girl.

The two hugged the fawn again, then waved goodbye, mounted their summoned beasts again, and galloped through the jungle.

After an unknown amount of time, just as Huang Xin was becoming drowsy, the summoned beast stopped, and they realized it was already dawn. Before them stood a massive doorway, thirty to forty meters high and fifty to sixty meters wide, with two thick wooden doors that opened to the sides. Above the doors were four large characters: "Yunbin Tribe." Looking inside, they saw an endless expanse of tents. The smallest were ten meters long, six meters wide, and three meters high, while the largest were fifty to sixty meters long and wide, and seven to eight meters high. Each tent was spaced two to three meters apart, densely packed together—at least a thousand in total.

Hannah turned to Huang Xin and said:

"This is the Yunbin tribe, my home!"

The summoned beast carried the two quickly through the gate. From inside, one could see a tall wooden tower on each side of the gate, its height exceeding the gate frame by seven or eight meters. Each tower was guarded by three archers. Inside the gate, on each side stood seven soldiers armed with spears, longswords, and long axes, along with a burly leader carrying a greatsword.
