Harry Potter: This senior is pretty strong

Chapter 151 Do Not Worry About the Thin-Hearted Path

Chapter 151 Do Not Worry About the Thin-Hearted Path

The traces a person leaves in the world are often reflected in other people.

For example, the young couple named Potter who died many years ago. Some people still can't forget their deaths, and some people often dream of the warm embrace hidden deep in their childhood memories.

So, years later, when Snape saw those familiar eyes, he would be momentarily stunned, but also occasionally furious—because the owner of those eyes looked so much like his father, not only in appearance, but also in his love of trouble and showing off, just like his father.

The events leading up to Halloween infuriated Snape, who then proceeded to simply and brutally confiscate the book in the hallway and deduct five points from Gryffindor's grade—it must be said that this was certainly partly due to personal grudges.

Harry Potter, on the other hand, often had two vague figures appear in his mind because he lived and studied in the place where his parents had lived and studied. Those two figures would appear in many places in Hogwarts: classrooms, corridors, the Great Hall, courtyards, lawns, lakeside...

Do they have the same favorite and least favorite subjects as me? Do they also get lost in the hallways or stairwells? What do they talk about when they eat in the auditorium? Do they spend their free time on the grass by the Black Lake...?

These thoughts would occasionally pop into his head, causing him to drift off into a daze.

Therefore, Harry has a different expectation for the sports competitions his father once participated in.

As an observer with a "God's-eye view," Qin Yu could understand their mentality very well.

Then he inevitably thought of the person who had left a mark on his life—Professor Stephen Swinton.

The person is now missing, and there has been no news for many days. Qin Yu still cannot contact him and is desperately working on that alchemical longsword in hopes of being able to communicate.

"I'm so worried about everything, big and small, every single day." Thinking of this, and looking at Hermione who had just finished "tattling," Qin Yu muttered a random thought.

Hermione was a little confused and looked at him with her clear, innocent eyes.

Qin Yu patted her head and said with a smile, "Okay, I know. If anything like this happens again, just let me know."

"Yes, I will." The little girl nodded solemnly, displaying her obedient nature.

After discussing these matters, the two went to the auditorium together. Dinner and the usual tutoring sessions followed, as usual, without any further delays.

……

Whether it was from being nagged or something else, the next day, the day of the Quidditch match, Qin Yu had just dressed in his robes and taken his flying broom when he was called to Professor Snape's office early in the morning.

Then, Qin Yu, who had just entered the room, took a thin letter from the other party.

The envelope had a line of beautiful and familiar cursive script on it, containing just two simple words:

To Qin

Seeing the signature "SS" in the lower right corner of the envelope, Qin Yu immediately guessed the sender of the letter, and asked with a look of delight, "Is this a letter from Professor Swinton?"

"Yes, I just received it this morning." Snape nodded, his tone slightly relaxed, and his cold facial features seemed to soften a bit.

"Hmm, finally some news." Qin Yu said, a smile involuntarily creeping onto his lips.

Swinton hadn't been in touch for so long, and although the two hadn't said anything, they couldn't help but worry about each other. Now that they had finally received his letter, they felt much more at ease.

Qin Yu said no more and opened the envelope in front of Snape, taking out the letter inside—the letter was indeed only a thin sheet of paper.

He unfolded the letter and read it; the contents were quite short.

"My dear Qin,

After our last communication, I ventured into a remote area in search of something. Due to the difficulty of communication, I was unable to write to you promptly, and I hope you were not worried. Furthermore, for the foreseeable future, I will likely be preoccupied with researching this newly acquired item, which will limit my contact with the outside world for an extended period. I am writing to inform you in advance so that you will not be concerned.

Your teacher & best friend

Stephen Swinton

The letter was so short that even though Qin Yu read it carefully twice, it didn't take him much time.

Finally, after glancing at the phrase "Do not worry" written in classical English in the letter, he couldn't help but mutter a complaint:

"That's it?!"

With that, he handed the letter to Snape.

The latter glanced at the contents of the letter, showed no surprise, and nodded, saying, "It's similar to mine."

"Well, how lazy can they be? The letters are getting shorter and shorter," Qin Yu complained again, then said, "But at least we have news of the person, so we worried for nothing."

“You’re the one who’s worried.” Snape flicked his sleeve and turned back to his desk.

"Oh right, right, I'm the only one who's worried. You're not worried at all." Qin Yu was too lazy to argue with the arrogant potion master.

Now that there was news about the missing Professor Swinton, Qin Yu was relieved and had one less obstacle to deal with in the upcoming Quidditch matches.

"I still need to prepare for the match, so I'll be going now. Bye-bye, Professor Snape!"

Qin Yu put the letter away, said goodbye to Snape, and turned to leave with light steps.

As he walked, he wondered if he could stop trying to get the alchemical longsword now that he had made contact with Swinton. After all, there hadn't been much progress lately.

However, he then thought that he had been working on it for so long, and if he gave up halfway, wouldn't all his previous efforts be wasted?

Sigh, the sunk cost is too high; it really is the driving force that keeps people going on with something.

"You still need to continue practicing the magic of alchemical communication." Just as Qin Yu was about to leave the office, Snape's voice rang out unexpectedly.

"Hmm?" Qin Yu was slightly taken aback, mainly because he was a little surprised that Professor Si's thoughts were somewhat in sync with his own.

“What I’m trying to say is that if Swinton goes silent for an extended period again, you have ways to contact him,” Snape said calmly, glancing down at the table as he tidied his things.

"Hmm, that makes sense. How come I didn't think of that?" Qin Yu nodded seriously, then added, "What if his sword suddenly emits our voices—oh no, my voice? Wouldn't he be startled? Hehehe, just thinking about it is quite interesting!"

Qin Yu chuckled to himself as he finished speaking, mainly because the story was quite vivid in his mind.

Snape, of course, ignored Qin Yu's foolish behavior.

Qin Yu, used to it, hummed an unknown tune from this world and left.

"I'll see you off, a thousand miles away..."

The sounds in the corridor gradually faded away. Snape frowned and listened for a long time, but still couldn't make out what the kid was singing.

……

North America, New York, an old five-story building hidden in the bustling city center.

Around the time Qin Yu opened the letter, a middle-aged wizard who was fast asleep in one of the bedrooms opened his eyes.

"The letter has already been written, they shouldn't be looking for that guy anymore," he murmured.

He had deliberately cast a spell on the letter, so that he could sense it once the envelope was opened.

Okay, I can finally sleep peacefully now.

That's what he was thinking.
