Michael was thinking, since something like the new life package could be found here, or even those scandal files, could he possibly find them within the system store?
After all, according to what the system had informed him when it bound, it was clear that the system store contained anything that could be found within this world.
And of course, it was not just limited to what really was there, instead, it could be something that had appeared in a science fiction setting even!
It was because of this that he was able to customize the training chamber that Kate had been using for the past few days.
Initially, before coming to this auction, he had never really encountered a situation where he thought that information like this could be bought. So, he never really searched through the system store.
A few seconds later, after some filtering, Michael was gazing directly at something that nearly made him smile. These things, they actually existed within the system store.
As long as it was not an imagination, it seemed that files were also sold. It was the files that were being sold, with the price of the file depending on the information that it contains.
In the situation where Onyx could not gather enough information, Michael could simply get the information through the system store. This implied that Michael had enough leverage to control most of the big figures out there.
From his understanding, most of these guys had used shady methods in order to be able to get where they were. After all, in business, it was very difficult for someone to be able to achieve something without being ruthless.
Of course, the type of ruthlessness depended on the person. It could be a situation where if there was a chance, a person could completely crush the opponent, leaving them completely bankrupt.
But there was another situation where, underhanded methods were used, in order to be able to achieve the goals that a person had.
It was this second category of people that Michael was thinking about. For most of these huge figures within the nation and even the world, how many of them had their hands clean?
In most situations, it is mainly because there was no any information about their activities, that they were roaming around freely. Or maybe, there was some information on them, but it was not enough to beat their money power.
Michael was quite curious about the depth of the information contained within these files. But in the end, he suppressed his curiosity, deciding that he would try this out later on after they went back to the mansion.
"I never thought that over 3 hours have already gone by. It is already approaching midnight, just 13 minutes away." Kate said in a surprised voice.
Truly, time went by quickly, and since the items available in the auction house or quite interesting, neither of the three had noticed the time. It was only when the auction had ended that Onyx reminded Michael about the current time.
During the time that they had been in here, food and drinks were being served continuously. Those that had gone cold would be replaced, while those that were finished, a new set would be brought over.
Therefore, the group had been snacking on some fruits and other snacks. One noticeable fact was that, none of them had really touched the delicacies that had been prepared for them.
No matter how good they looked, could they really compare to the food that Michael prepared in terms of taste? Of course not. So, the 2 ladies had no any intention of eating it.
For Kate, it was kind of understandable. After all, she had been eating all 3 meals at Michael’s place. In fact, she was already considering moving in, something that had already been approved by her grandfather.
Therefore, she really could enjoy much of Michael’s food. It was no wonder that she had lost interest in the other types of food, at least the food prepared by other chefs.
As for Carol, she thought, since she was with Michael, why not enjoy the food that was prepared at his house? This way, she would at least eat as much as she could, without affecting her appetite by eating the food prepared by other chefs.
She understood that she would eventually leave, and would have to deal with those bland foods, but that was something to deal with later on.
And for now, she was already thinking about something else. She thought, when she got a chance, she would definitely talk to Kate about it.
The three did not linger inside the VVIP box. Since they had not placed a bid on anything, they did not have to wait for anything.
The attendant that was in charge of this VVIP room looked back into the room, especially the eye-catching delicacies on the table, before she shook her head. She wondered, what could have happened?
This entire time, she realized, apart from the fruits, this group of three had only eaten a few snacks. Could it be that they were not interested in the food that had been prepared?
But that seemed to be impossible. After all, the auction house had a collaboration with the biggest restaurant within the city. The head chef there was the one that was in charge of preparing the dishes for the VVIP boxes.
So, she only came up with one explanation, that was, they had already eaten before coming over. So, they could not eat more.
Still, it was kind of confusing, after all, after 3 hours, at least someone’s stomach should have opened up some space, right?
Michael and the two ladies did not know about what the attendant was thinking about. Immediately after they left the VVIP box, they headed towards the lobby area, preparing to leave.
But just as they went through the security checkpoint, suddenly, a group of people rushed towards them from behind.
Even without turning around, Michael could immediately tell who they were as Onyx immediately informed him.
"You, stop! If you dare to get into the elevator, I can promise you that you will suffer the consequences!" A very familiar voice reached their ears.
When she heard those words, Carol’s expression totally shifted. Of course, she recognized the voice, which belonged to none other than Julius.
This guy, he had been pestering her. Throughout the entire time, she had always been straightforward with him, telling him that she was not interested in him at all.
Unexpectedly, this guy was like a simp. He was persistent, and despite the fact that she rejected him, he continuously tried to give her gifts.
Of course, she always refused all of them. She understood, if she dared to accept any one of them, then, it would be no different from accepting him.
But now, judging from the sound of the footsteps, it was not just Julius who was approaching them. Instead, it seemed to be quite a huge group.
So, at this point, Carol felt guilty. After all, Michael and Kate did not know about this Julius guy. Maybe if they had not brought her along, when it was time to leave, they would have left without any problems.
She quickly looked at Michael, whose expression remained neutral, making it hard for her to be able to guess what he was thinking.
As for Kate, she also had a slightly displeased expression on her face. But even then, she just totally ignored the shout, as if she was not the one being addressed.
Since neither Michael or Kate was stopping, Carol also did not stop. She just decided to ignore Julius, assuming that he was talking to the air.
Behind them, it seemed that Julius was infuriated by the fact that they had just been ignored. So, the three could hear him commanding in a loud voice, "You, stop them immediately! In fact, beat up that punk for me!"
Immediately after Julius finished shouting, the sounds of footsteps grew closer, as a group of people rapidly closed in on them.
In the next moment, five people dressed in suits, blocked their path towards the elevator. Looking at them, it was easy to guess that they were the bodyguards.
The moment that they blocked the path of the three, they did not say anything. Instead, two of them immediately rushed towards Michael, their intentions clear.
But the moment that they began making a move, Kate’s expression turned. Coldness appeared in her eyes, as her body shifted forward.
Michael did not stop her, as he understood her intention. And, he let her be. After all, she had been training for quite a while, and had yet to fight for the past few days.
Therefore, it was not a bad idea for her to test how much she had improved as compared to ordinary people.
Despite the surprise of the two people who were attacking, realizing that there was a young lady who was blocking their path, they did not stop.
Since their target was not the lady, the two immediately tried to go around Kate, so that they could reach Michael.
Unfortunately, the moment that the first one tried to get past Kate, she stretched her right hand sideways, before slapping towards his head.
The guy was not even able to react, apart from squinting his eyes as shock appeared in them. And in the next moment, his head was smashed by a massive force, that suddenly made him nearly spin in the air.
Bang!
He heavily collapsed onto the ground, the back of his head smashing onto the tiles on the ground, nearly cracking them.
Kate did not pay attention to him, as she used her left hand, striking towards the other guy who was passing towards her left. He met with the same fate.
And at this moment, everything around them suddenly went silent, as everyone looked at her, shock in their eyes.
