Hogwarts and the Atypical Wizard

Chapter 214: Opening Ceremony

Chapter 214: Opening Ceremony

Back in the Great Hall, Dumbledore acted like a headmaster again, the candlelight illuminating his silver beard, "Welcome back to Hogwarts! You may have noticed that there are several Dementors from Azkaban in the school.

They were sent by the Ministry of Magic to search the train en route earlier today, and I'm sure you already know that they are not easy to get along with."

There was no emotion in Dumbledore's voice. "The Ministry of Magic believes that they need to be sent around the school to prevent the possible appearance of certain dark wizards. They will guard the entrances and exits of the school."

After saying this, Dumbledore looked at all the students present seriously and said, "There is one very serious thing I must remind you all: Dementors do not see people with their eyes. No tricks or disguises can fool them, not even the invisibility cloak!

I hope this will draw everyone's attention, and no one should play any tricks or leave the school without permission when they are here."

After he said this with a hint of meaning, he added: "Dementors have no mercy, and they will not understand any pleas or excuses.

I want the Head Boys and Girls and the Prefects to ensure that no student comes into conflict with the Dementors and does not give them any chance to harm you."

After Dumbledore finished speaking, Sainz noticed that Ron's brother Percy stood up with his chest puffed out. He wore a shiny new silver badge on his chest, which was the proof that he was elected as the President of the Boys' Union this year.

What Old Deng said was too serious, and his expression was too solemn. The students in the auditorium couldn't help but be stunned. Everyone listened to him quietly, and no one made any small movements.

After finishing the entrance admonition, he continued, "Now let's talk about a lighter topic. I am very happy that we will have two new professors joining the Hogwarts teaching staff this year.

First let me introduce you to Professor Lupin. As some of you may have heard, Gilderoy Lockhart was found unworthy of continuing to hold the position of Professor during the holidays."

At this point, many students laughed, mostly senior boys, and many girls showed expressions of disapproval and hurt.

Dumbledore ignored the students' reactions and continued, "So I approached Professor Lupin, and he gladly accepted the invitation and agreed to fill the vacant Defense Against the Dark Arts professor position."

Lupin's image obviously did not win the students' appreciation. After Dumbledore finished speaking, only a few students in the auditorium gave applause. Lupin did not seem to care about these. He just sat quietly in the chair.

He was quiet, but someone was not so "quiet". Sainz noticed it as soon as he entered the hall. Snape tilted his head and stared at Lupin across several people, his face full of gloomy hatred.

Those who know the inside story certainly know why he has that "I've suffered a great injustice" expression, but to students who don't know the truth, they might think that Snape seems to be a little too obsessed with the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, so much so that he begins to hate other professors who get this position.

Sainz sneered in his heart and paid no more attention.

After Dumbledore introduced Lupin, he began to introduce the new Care of Magical Creatures professor: "Regrettably, Professor Kettleburn decided to retire and enjoy his good life at the end of last term.

But don't worry!

Don't worry if there's no one to teach Care of Magical Creatures, I'm pleased to announce that the man who will fill that position, and who will be doing it in addition to his role as gamekeeper, is none other than Rubeus Hagrid!"

Hagrid was not as calm as Lupin. Upon hearing Dumbledore's appointment, he stood up suddenly in excitement, making the cutlery on the table clink. Through his thick beard, one could see that his face was flushed red.

When the students heard the appointment, they paused for a moment, and then began to applaud "warmly".

Well, at least it was much warmer than the welcome Luke usually gave, and the Gryffindor table was the most enthusiastic.

After introducing the new professors, Dumbledore announced the start of the banquet. After everyone had a delicious meal, he announced the end of the banquet.

After the banquet, Sainz and several other students who were familiar with Hagrid went to the faculty table to congratulate Hagrid.

Before Dumbledore stepped off the stage, he said to Sainz, "Ten minutes later, don't forget, Mr. Autumn."

He reminded him to take back the Patronus in ten minutes.

Sainz nodded and said, "Please, Professor Dumbledore."

Old Deng didn't say anything, just nodded and walked away.

Ron and Harry heard the conversation between Sainz and old Dumbledore. Ron was a little curious, "Sainz, what did Professor Dumbledore tell you not to forget?"

Sainz looked at him and wanted to say to him, "Since Dumbledore didn't tell you directly, does it mean that you don't need to know this?"

But he didn't seem to be asking like a long-eared rabbit on purpose. He was probably just asking casually out of habit, so I didn't confront him directly. "Nothing. He just reminded me not to forget to go find Professor McGonagall."

Hearing Professor McGonagall's name, Ron shrank his neck and fell silent.

While the two were talking, Hermione said loudly to Hagrid, "Congratulations, Hagrid!"

Hagrid wiped his greasy face with a napkin and said incoherently: "I can't believe it... What a great man, Dumbledore..."

He excitedly thanked Sainz again: "Thank you, Sainz. After listening to you, I... I bravely expressed my wish to Dumbledore. I didn't expect... I didn't expect that after Professor Kettleburn announced his retirement, he came directly to me..."

Hagrid was so excited that he almost cried. He buried his face in his napkin, "Well... this one is what I want..."

Professor McGonagall couldn't stand it anymore and said, "Potter, Granger, and Weasley, I think you should go back to your dormitories!"

Professor McGonagall's words were as effective as ever, and the Gryffindors dispersed.

After everyone else left, Professor McGonagall said seriously, "Come with me, Autumn!"

Sainz followed Professor McGonagall to her office. She turned around and said, "Mr. Autumn, I heard Professor Sprout tell me your thoughts. I want to confirm whether that is your true thought?

It’s not too late to change now!”

"I've thought it through, Madam Vice Principal!" Sainz took out the time converter on his own initiative.

Hearing the title from his mouth, Professor McGonagall immediately understood his determination. She pursed her lips and said nothing, then reached out to take the hourglass from Saens's hand.

"Autumn, maybe you are right. It is indeed a waste of time for you to continue attending classes."

"Professor, not attending your classes doesn't mean that my study of magic will stop. In fact, without so many classes, I will have more time to make up for my shortcomings."

Hearing that he would not stop learning magic, Professor McGonagall nodded and warned, "Any magic is very dangerous. I hope you will be cautious when exploring."

"I'll keep your teachings in mind, Professor!"
