Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 178: No more night outings with Potter!

Chapter 178: No more night outings with Potter!

Harry couldn't see Draco's expression because of the figure.

All I heard was Snape speaking lazily.

"Your sharp eyes should be able to tell, Moody, that I just woke up."

"Indeed, otherwise that picture would bring a lot of joy."

"You say so, Potter."

Moody said, turning his head and grinning at Harry.

The frightening aura he had just had has dissipated.

"But I don't think you should be surprised, Snape."

"This isn't the first time your office has been searched either."

As Moody spoke, Harry stole glances at Snape, whose expression showed no emotion.

"You remember, Dumbledore told me to keep an eye on you."

"I don't think he would order you to search my office."

"Really? That's because you don't know him well enough."

"You didn't fight alongside him, did you?"

"The coward who defected from over there."

Snape's tone remained as cold as ever. But Moody seemed determined to irritate him.

Harry couldn't see Draco's expression, and as he listened, he gradually realized that his own thoughts were a little complicated.

Harry felt a certain satisfaction in watching Moody sneer at Snape.

But at the same time, he was vaguely grateful for Snape's appearance, something he was unwilling to admit.

I'm not sure what the consequences would be if I continued talking to Moody.

What surprised Harry even more was that Snape was completely unmoved.

He just narrowed his dark eyes and looked at Moody mysteriously.

This seemed to make Moody calm down and soften his tone.

"But you're right. He didn't order me around. That's his weakness."

"Dumbledore has always been too trusting."

"But I'm different and neither is Barty Crouch."

"After all, some stains can never be washed away."

At the mention of the name, Harry felt Moody glance at him once more.

It was as if the next words were meant to be spoken to myself.

"We all know that Mad-Eye Moody hates Death Eaters at large the most."

"But compared to Barty Crouch, he is far behind."

Harry was still somewhat surprised to hear Moody accuse Snape of having been a Death Eater right in front of him.

But what was even more surprising was that Snape had no intention of denying it at all.

He finally spoke quietly, his tone almost admonishing.

"It sounds to me like you're trying to remind me,"

"Mad-Eye Moody and Barty Crouch have a lot in common."

After hearing Snape's words, Moody suddenly burst into laughter, and his tone was once again full of intimidation and threats.

"Go to bed, Snape."

"Or if you want to hang out around the school in the dark."

“Just wander off somewhere else. I look forward to seeing you in those dark hallways.”

"I wish I had your leisure, Moody."

"But I have to take the students from the academy back to the lounge."

Through Moody's shadow, Harry could see,

Snape waved his hand from behind, as if signaling Draco to move back first.

"Then you should leave quickly. I will take Potter back to Gryffindor Tower."

Snape nodded indifferently and then spoke coldly to Harry.

"You should immediately stop wandering around after dark."

"For your own safety."

The threat level of these two sentences is no less than that of Moody's just now.

Moody just smiled again and turned around, resting his cane-free hand on Harry's shoulder.

"That's the best thing you said all night, Snape."

"I really want people to know that you care so much about Potter."

"Please do. Remember to make up for it, because this way, Dumbledore trusts me very much."

Snape said, helping Draco down the stairs.

Harry vaguely felt that Snape seemed to have the upper hand in this verbal duel.

-

Draco just kept his head down and remained silent as Snape walked back to the common room.

Although it is hard to imagine that Professor Moody would do anything dangerous in school,

But before Snape appeared, the atmosphere in the corridor was somewhat terrifying.

"You should be more careful."

"Especially, after the experience of the World Cup."

When they were about to go down to the cellar, Snape spoke softly.

It was a rare, gentle tone mixed with harsh reproach towards himself.

"Yes."

He also knew that the risk of being caught by Moody tonight might be greater than it appeared.

"The Dark Mark, you were attacked, Bertha Joakim, a Ministry employee, disappeared..."

"There are many signs that—"

Snape said this, his right hand unconsciously pressing on the inside of his left forearm.

"Dark Lord, isn't he?"

"Can you tell me something that my parents originally wanted to tell me?"

Draco finally couldn't help but ask.

Snape turned away, his eyes narrowed.

Draco looked at him calmly, and saw a smile flash across his eyes.

But Snape still said nothing and just praised himself.

"Your Occlumency is excellent. Potter..."

After a moment's silence, he changed the subject.

"I know what you saw. His Occlumency isn't that strong."

“My office has been burglarized more than once this year.”

"Different potion ingredients disappear from my personal storage cabinet."

"But every time something is stolen, there's powdered horns from two-horned beasts and snake skins from boomslangs."

"You know what that means."

"Polyjuice Potion!?"

"So it was Mr. Crouch we saw?"

As soon as Draco heard about the stolen materials, he immediately thought of the possible answer to tonight's encounter.

"It should be. But we are still confirming it."

Snape finished, his tone turning serious again.

"I tell you this only to satisfy your curiosity."

"You promised me that you would leave this matter entirely to me and Dumbledore."

Draco looked into his dark eyes and nodded obediently.

The two stopped in front of the lounge entrance.

"No, no more night outings with Potter."

Draco, who rarely gets scolded, naturally feels a little uncomfortable.

But she also understood that behind this was the deepest concern.

"I promise you."

While looking at Snape carefully, I saw some wrinkles at the corners of his eyes.

I didn't care that this was a school, I walked forward gently and spoke softly.

"Goodnight, Severus."

Snape smiled helplessly and rubbed Draco's head gently.

Knowing what she was worried about deep down, I couldn't help but sigh.

"Don't worry. Potter will be perfectly safe during the Triwizard Tournament."
