Chapter 103 Bifang's Flame
Chapter 103 Bifang's Flame
"Let's go, there's no need to stay here." Ye Quan said, taking two steps forward, but not sensing anyone following behind, he couldn't help but turn back.
There was nothing behind me, just emptiness. Even the arm I had seen earlier had vanished, as if everything I had just witnessed was an illusion.
The arm might be an illusion, but Su Ming couldn't be an illusion. Ye Quan clearly remembered that Su Ming was here, he was definitely here, there was no way he hadn't followed.
"What exactly happened here? Shaojun, if you were here, you might be able to find out."
Ye Quan remained calm and continued walking inside. Now he was the only one left, but even if he was alone, he had to keep going.
He knew from years of experience that there was no turning back; going back would definitely lead to something terrifying.
"Perhaps... Bi Fang's appearance has exhausted its last energy, and the beings hidden in Helan Mountain are about to reappear."
Ye An muttered to himself as he walked toward the place Su Ming had pointed out earlier.
……
"Gone." Su Ming stood up. The severed arm he was holding had disappeared, and Ye Quan, who had been speaking, had also disappeared. The surrounding environment remained unchanged, but there was no one else around, only himself.
Su Ming looked back, but there was no sign of any living being behind him. Strangely, his body's instincts prevented him from going back.
"This is really troublesome."
As a mid-level mage, he's likely in grave danger having landed in the Helan Mountains.
Su Ming remained calm and composed. He knew that panicking wouldn't solve anything, so all he could do now was to go inside.
Su Ming stood up and took a step forward. Suddenly, the surrounding environment changed without any warning.
Is this a cave?
It was opaque, you couldn't see the sky, and it was pitch black all around, so you couldn't see how big it was. When there was light, a large area was illuminated, but you still couldn't see the end.
Not far ahead was a stone platform, on which lay a small creature, motionless.
Su Ming's eyes lit up. Lying on it was none other than Xiao Qing.
"Xiao Qing".
Su Ming called out, but Xiao Qing did not respond and remained lying there, fast asleep.
There were no patterns on the stone platform; it was just an ordinary stone platform. But his hand did not reach in to touch Xiao Qing; a wall of energy blocked his hand.
He looked around but couldn't find any traps or mechanisms; it seemed he was trapped here.
"Bifang?" Su Ming called out into the air.
The stone platform condensed into a small, illusory image, just like the previous one that blotted out the sky. Su Ming knew that this was Bi Fang.
"Why am I here?" Su Ming asked.
"have no idea."
Why is Xiaoqing here?
"have no idea."
"How do I leave?"
"have no idea."
"Can I still leave?"
"have no idea."
……
Su Ming was speechless. Did this Bi Fang know nothing at all?
There was no sense of danger here, but Su Ming was unwilling to stay here for long. There was no benefit to be gained, and it was a waste of time. He had to go back and couldn't stay here.
Although I don't know what Bi Fang is planning, he probably won't hurt me, otherwise he would have already made a move. I'm just a mid-level mage, and even if Bi Fang is dead, killing him probably wouldn't be too difficult.
"Do you want to go back?" Bi Fang's voice was very ethereal, coming from all directions, and it had a bit more vitality than before.
The previous voice sounded like an inanimate object speaking according to a fixed program, but the reality sounded like a living person speaking, with an added touch of emotion.
This made Su Ming realize that Bi Fang had finally appeared and asked the same question again, but he still didn't get an answer... no, he did get one, but all of them were "I don't know".
Su Ming, being sensible, stopped asking those questions.
"What did you mean by what you said before?"
"Literal meaning." Bifang flew up from the stone platform and landed on Su Ming's head. She seemed to be very unhappy about being looked down upon earlier, and now it was her turn to look down on Su Ming.
Xiaoqing used to like to sit on his head, and he was used to it.
"Didn't I tell you before? Now that you're here, I'll just give you the things."
"I didn't leave you much, just a ball of flame. I'll implant it into your body later. Use it as you see fit," Bi Fang said calmly.
"I don't have fire element, so your flames are useless to me." Bi Fang's things are good, but he can't use them since he doesn't have fire element, so giving them to him is a real waste.
"What an idiot," Bi Fang typed, which made Su Ming's lips twitch twice, but he didn't refute it.
"What do you know? My flames are the second best in the world. So what if you haven't awakened your magic and don't have any elemental affinity? You can still use them. In the end, those magic systems are just the manifestation of the potential within the human body. Once you obtain my flames, you can possess that so-called fire element yourself."
Bi Fang's words made Su Ming's eyes light up. Possessing fire element?
He already has four elements. If he gains a fire element, that will be five. If he awakens another element, that will be seven.
Seven magic systems...
This... is a bit too incredible.
"Really?" Su Ming was somewhat incredulous, after all, such a thing was a bit unbelievable.
"Bao, who am I? Just a fire elementalist. My fire will remain in your body and continue to grow. You can explore it later; it should be quite useful."
It sounds incredibly tempting, but why would Bifang give him such a benefit? It's really strange.
"I'm just keeping it because it's useless to me. It's just a ball of flame. Garuda is tired of following a weakling like you. Can't you be a little stronger? You're as weak as can be. Summoning is still at the beginner level. If you were to fight Garuda now, you would definitely lose. I just want you to improve."
Su Ming opened his eyes wide. He hadn't said a word, but Bi Fang seemed to be able to see right through him; nothing could escape his notice.
Bi Fang remained unchanged, but a hint of disdain was clearly evident in his tone.
"What's the big deal about seeing through someone's heart? Once you're stronger, you'll know what kind of existence I really am. I'm ranked ninth among the seventy-two totems, much more powerful than the Black Tortoise on top."
"Alright, where's your flame? Give it to me." Su Ming couldn't understand what Bi Fang was saying, what was this about the seventy-two pillar totem? He didn't understand, and he figured he wouldn't understand even if he asked, so there was no need to ask.
He still cared about that flame that could awaken his fire element.
With his current limited perspective, he couldn't imagine just how powerful this flame was; he only needed to know that it was awesome, extremely awesome, without needing to know the specifics.
"It's been inside you since you entered Helan Mountain. Otherwise, why do you think you could get in? Don't you find it strange that a mid-level mage like you could enter a place that even high-level mages can't?"
"It was because of my flame within you that you were able to enter."
